Privacy
Privacy, in plain English.
We’d rather tell you exactly what happens than write a long policy that says very little. This page covers the website, email, and each of our apps.

Who we are
Mindful Things is an independent software company in the United Kingdom. For anything about privacy, email hello@mindfulthings.co.uk.
This website
- No cookies. The website doesn’t set any cookies.
- No analytics or advertising. We don’t use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or any other third-party tracking scripts. The only script on the site opens the mobile menu.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server keeps a standard log of requests: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. We use these only to keep the site running and secure. Logs are deleted automatically after about two weeks.
- Together invitation links are deliberately left out of those logs.
If you email us, we’ll receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, and use it only to reply and to help you. Our email is hosted by Fastmail. We won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Mindful Navigation
Mindful Navigation is in private testing. Routes are planned on your iPhone. To show your position and plan a route, the app uses your location on the device.
Together
Together exists to share your location with people you’ve chosen, so it does need to handle some personal data. Our approach is simple: our server stores only the minimum needed to make sharing work, keeps it only for as long as it’s needed, and we never analyse, sell or share it. We have zero interest in collecting anyone’s data.
- Opt-in. Sharing is off until you choose to turn it on.
- You choose who. Your location is shared only with the individual people you choose, after one of you has sent an invitation and the other has accepted it.
- Pause or stop any time. You can pause or stop sharing at any time from within the app. While sharing is paused, nobody can see your location. When you stop sharing, your last shared location is deleted from our server.
- Delete your account. In-app account deletion is coming soon, before Together’s public release.
What our server stores
- Your account: a random account identifier and the security keys that let your iPhone sign in safely. We don’t ask for your email address, phone number or a password.
- Your profile: the name, and the optional small photo, you choose to show to the people you share with.
- Your connections: who you share with, and whether sharing is on or paused.
- Your most recent shared location: each update replaces the last one. We don’t keep a location history, and it’s deleted when you stop sharing.
- Arrival and departure alerts: if you use them, the place you’re currently at (its name and position) while you’re there, and a short record of each alert sent, which is deleted automatically within two days.
- A notification token for your iPhone, so Apple’s Push Notification service can deliver alerts. Alerts are sent through Apple; we don’t use any other third parties.
Our Together server doesn’t keep logs of requests. Invitation links contain a long random code, expire after two days, and the web page they open doesn’t create an account, reveal who invited you, or accept the invitation.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@mindfulthings.co.uk and we’ll help. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled something, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
We’ll update this page as our apps develop, and before either is released publicly.
